Useful information about the Hotel California

You can move into your room on the day of arrival from 3 pm.

Check-ins are possible until 10 pm. If you arrive later than 10 pm, please contact us early so that we can explain the next steps.

Check-out must be no later than 11:30 am.

Check-out is possible in the morning from 7:00 am. If you wish to leave earlier, please settle your bill the night before your departure. Departure outside the specified times is possible upon request and possibly for a fee.

The reception is located on the 1st floor and is open daily from 7:00 am to 22:00 pm.

Between 19:00 pm and 7:00 am our hotel entrance is closed. For your safety, the Securitas company carries out night checks. When you leave the hotel, please do not forget your orange key. With this you can open the main entrance door of the hotel at any time.

If the orange key is forgotten and the hotel bell is pressed, Securitas moves out to open the hotel door. Since this is an external service, this intervention costs the hotel guest CHF 150.

You can reach Stadelhofen train station in 5 minutes if you leave the hotel in the direction of Bellevueplatz. From there, you can take the train or tram to numerous destinations.

You can reach the main station from the tram station “Helmhaus” (200m away from our hotel) in 10 minutes by tram number 4 in the direction of “Werdhölzli” (in the main station you will also find a tourist information office).

You can buy tram tickets at the ticket machines at every stop. 24-hour tram tickets for zone 110 and tram maps are available at the reception.

Timetable information is available from the Zürcher Verkehrsverbund at www.zvv.ch and from Schweizerische Bundesbahnen at www.sbb.ch.

Arrival: If you wish to arrive earlier, you can leave your luggage at the reception in the Luggage Depot from 7:00 am.

Departure: So that you can enjoy your last day of stay to the fullest, you have the possibility to leave your luggage at the reception.

When you arrive at Zurich Airport, we recommend you to take the train (line S16) in the direction of Herrliberg. You can get off at the station called “Stadelhofen”.

Hotel California is located in the middle of the old town and does not have its own parking.

Parking is available in the Hohe Promenade car park (Rämistrasse 22a, 8001 Zurich). Hourly charge: CHF 4.40 and daily charge: CHF 43. Our reception will be happy to explain how to get there.

At Bellevueplatz there is a UBS Bank where you can do your banking during the usual opening hours (Monday to Friday from 9:00 to 16:30) and withdraw Swiss francs at the ATM during 24 hours a day.

In each room there is a laundry bag with a price list. If the laundry is delivered to the reception before 8 am on weekdays, you will receive it washed and ironed back the same day.

Our room cleaning takes place between 7:00 am and 3:00 pm. After 3:00 pm we will gladly hand you fresh bath towels upon request at the reception.

Would you like to remain undisturbed? Use the red stop sign and hang it on the outside of the door.

We do not offer room service. However, you are welcome to grab something at Papa Joe’s restaurant and enjoy it in your room.

At the reception you will find various information brochures from Zürich Tourism, in which you will find the most important sights and information. We will be happy to inform you about current cinema, opera and theater programs at the reception.

Explore Zurich by boat? At Bürkliplatz you will find the Zurich shipping company. Buy a ticket and enjoy Zurich on one of the many ships. A boat schedule is available at the reception right next to the elevator.

The breakfast buffet is served from Monday to Friday from 7 to 10 am. Saturday and Sunday from 7:30 to 10:30 am.

The entire house has free wifi. You will receive the access code at check-in.

All our rooms are equipped with bath/WC, hairdryer, shampoo/shower gel, minibar and TV.

There is also a kettle in each room to prepare tea or coffee.

All rooms are equipped with a safe. Please read the user manual carefully and secure your valuables. We assume no liability.

Bath and hand towels are provided in all rooms and are changed daily.

If you want to use the towel again for the sake of the environment, please hang it up again.

If you would like an additional pillow or duvet, please ask our reception staff, we will be happy to provide both free of charge.

If you forgot your toothbrush, toothpaste or disposable razor, we will be happy to help you out. Please ask our reception staff.

All rooms have a minibar with free Arkina water in it.

The hotel does not have barrier-free rooms.

Upon request, you are welcome to order an iron and the ironing board to your room. Please contact the reception.
